Northvolt has an exciting offer for an Engineering Internship in Mechanical Design. During this internship, you will be a part of our lithium-ion battery cell design team based in Västerås, Sweden. By joining us, you will gain understanding of mechanical design processes in product development and other relevant applications associated.

You as an intern will act as a "glue" and coordinator, supporting with all the battery cell design processes which include experiments and the relevant documentation. You will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best experts in the lithium-ion battery field from all corners of the globe and grow together with us in this exciting journey to contribute to a greener future!

You will participate in a variety of initiatives that are already in motion among colleagues as well as work on own projects - we promise, it won't get boring!

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Documentation related to mechanical cell design processes; work order preparation, preparation of semi-product specification, preparation of product specification, input of required information to PLM and more

  • Collection and analysis of validation data to support cell design engineers

The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, curious and eager to learn. Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Recently graduated or soon to be graduated from a Master’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient skills in Siemens NX (3D modelling, 2D Drawings and PLM). Familiarity with Catia, Ansys or similar CAE simulation software is desirable.
  • Knowledge in statistical analysis fundamentals.
  • Experience from working or studying in a multi-cultural environment.

Bonus points for:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Good understanding of industrial product development processes. Hands-on experience is big plus.

  • Ambitious and highly efficient doer mentality.

  • Excellent, flexible multi-tasker with love for both people and technology.
