Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Logistics Developer to join our excellent and passionate team in Stockholm. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building the network of European Lithium-Ion battery giga-factories. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Project Logistics Developer's primary focus will be on planning and executing the processes of transportation and installation of heavy manufacturing and construction equipment from Asian and European suppliers, all the way to Northvolt's European factory sites. The role will be of pivotal importance in ensuring proper execution of the construction, installation and commissioning of Northvolt manufacturing sites' landscape.

Project Logistics Developer will be the key link between Northvolt's equipment suppliers, appointed Industrial Projects LSPs, logistical infrastructure partners (e.g. port of Skellefteå) and the Northvolt Site Logistics Teams.

In broad terms, Team Logistics is responsible for everything that moves. Our mission is to support Northvolt’s growth and expansion with logistical expertise and to create a robust logistical framework, within which Northvolt units can operate.

Generally speaking, you have a high degree of experience within logistical operations, preferably in an industrial projects setting. You are absolutely excellent in multi-tasking across continents. You understand the importance of structure and communication, especially across cultures and time zones, as means to ensure clarity and reach common goals within specific time frames.

The role will be based in Northvolt’s Stockholm head office with regular travels to Västerås, Skellefteå, Germany and Far East (China, Korea, Japan).

Together with the wider Northvolt Project Logistics Team you will:

  • Lead the preparations, planning, co-ordination and execution of land-side activities across supplier locations,
  • Be the link between Northvolt partners - e.g. suppliers and appointed IP LSP,
  • Assess solutions and procure freight,
  • Ensure QHSE and document compliance,
  • In co-operation with the IP LSP, oversee the long-haul and short-haul transportation across all modalities (air, sea, road, rail) for both in-gauge and out-of-gauge cargo,
  • Lead the co-ordination of the schedule between internal Northvolt departments,
  • Support the local Site Logistics Teams in Skellefteå and beyond,
  • Take a lead role in developing and enhancing operational procedures,
  • Participate in structured and unstructured communication to ensure clarity around next steps and ultimate goals. Follow-up these with stakeholders and against timelines,
  • Continuously improve overall project logistics operations,

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
