We are building a state-of-the-art facility for research and development of the next generation of battery cells, and we need your help in making it happen. If you are a hands-on Mechanical Engineer that loves to create build to print drawings and requirements that with speed needs to be translated to physical equipment, this is the opportunity for you.

In this role you need to quickly design and build flexible, yet robust battery cell lab verification equipment. You will in collaboration with chemists and material scientists create prerequisites for developing fixtures, precision characterization hardware, gas-phase analytical equipment etc.

You need to be effortlessly proficient at CAD, from 3D modelling to fully detailed fabrication drawings, have experience from machine design and know the right places to source components for robust, repeatable precision mechanisms.

We are looking for an enthusiastic learner who takes ownership and responsibility for tasks and is eager to collaborate to achieve great results. If you are the right person for this role, you are goal-oriented, curious, and persistent in solving problems at their root causes. Your first-principles knowledge of engineering allows you to engage quickly with a wide range of new problems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build to print drawings and requirement for lab verification fixtures, accessories etc.
  • 3D modelling to fully detailed fabrication drawings
  • Source build to print components and liaison with suppliers
  • Ensure product quality in the developing process
  • Quality assurance through the development process

Skills & Requirements

Education and experience

  • A relevant university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Physics or equivalent
  • Practical engineering experience in an R&D-focused environment
  • Experience with plumbing across a range of different media (compressed air, vacuum etc.)
  • CAD 3D modelling and 2D drawing tools
  • Kinematics design
