We are looking for a dedicated Heavy Lifting and Hauling Coordinator, to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Construction Team team based in Skellefteå.

The role:
The Coordinator supervises the construction activities assigned to third party contractors, and ensures compliance with schedule, costs, quality, health, safety and environmental protection requirements.

Specifically for DS-Heavy Lifting & Hauling, shall provide oversight of all lifting operations on the jobsite for the off-loading and transporting of equipment, prefabricated structures and modules to various foundations or staging areas on the jobsite. This individual shall provide input for the development of rigging plans and heavy haul plans whilst coordinating with other Northvolt discipline superintendents, Northvolt Logistics and Main Contractor.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: ``

  • Advise the CM to ensure the most suitable solutions in terms of assembly sequences, works scheduling, constructability, feasibility, etc.;
  • Determine crane and rigging equipment requirements for the project, preparing reports and forecasts
  • Support Main Contractor in the development of lift plans and heavy haul plans
  • Supervise lift activities at site, monitoring and ensuring quality rigging execution and safe lifting practices

  • Ensure transport activities from Skeleftehamn port to Northvolt Ett site are correctly planned and executed.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to Northvolt Logistics and civil superintendents to assure heavy haul roads and routes are sufficient for the transportation of all heavy haul loads.

  • Coordinate with other Discipline Superintendents and Main Contractor to assure access is established for road grades and turning radiuses of transport vehicles

  • Interface with other Discipline Superintendents and Main Contractor and subcontractors to ensure work is performed according to schedule and budget.

  • Coordinating lifting activities at site with particular attention to interfaces with other ongoing projects and departments within Northvolt Ett site.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and implementation of Northvolt corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions for rigging operations.

  • Checking the adequacy of personnel and equipment belonging to the contractors, promoting any actions required to achieve objectives

  • Interfacing with Northvolt Proprietary/Main Equipment vendors, reviewing their documentation for special lifting instructions and ensure the correct implementation at site.

  • Ensuring, with the support of the Northvolt HSE Team, the field control of HSE aspects also with reference to activities developed by Contractors/Suppliers;

  • Notifying the CM of problems and deviations that cannot be settled directly

  • Assisting the CM and Project Manager with tasks related to Change Management, including problems concerning claims or price revisions submitted by the contractors

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

Education: University degree in Engineering or other applicable field of study

Professional Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in industrial construction projects
  • 5 years of experience as appointed person for lifting operations

Certifications:

  • Driver’s License class B valid in Sweden/EU

  • Säkra Lyft ISO ( SS-ISO 22 853, AFS 2006:6.) or international equivalent certification for lifting professionals

  • BAM (Bättre Arbetsmiljö) and BAS-P/U course highly valued

Other valuable ( but not required) experience:

  • Familiarity with Sweden’s Arbetsmiljöverket Laws and Provisions applicable to construction projects
  • Experience as heavy lift crane operator highly valued

Language Skills:

  • English proficiency mandatory
  • Swedish proficiency highly valued
  • Proficiency with the language of Contractor manpower highly valued as well.
