Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) Manager

We are looking for a dedicated CSA Works Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Construction Team team based in Skellefteå.

The role:
The CSA supervises the construction activities assigned to third party contractors, and ensures compliance with schedule, costs, quality, health, safety and environmental protection requirements.

Specifically for DS-CSA, area of responsibility shall include Civil, Concrete, Structural and Architectural works and contribute to the achievement of occupancy permits for the US2 building through the necessary 3rd party inspections.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the CM, in close collaboration with the project organization of the Main Contractor for the Engineering & Procurement phase, in preparing and updating of construction schedules that meet Northvolt’s project objectives;
  • Ensuring the most suitable solutions in terms of assembly sequences, works scheduling, constructability, feasibility, etc.;
  • Coordinating the site activities of contractors in collaboration with Main Contractor, with particular attention to interfaces with other ongoing projects within Northvolt Ett site.
  • Attending the tests, controls and inspections carried out by the Main Contractor and it sub-contractors, checking conformity required by Northvolt specifications, European Directives and National Standards
  • Ensuring the orderly collection and management of written records of inspections, controls and test results by Main Contractor for the purpose of approvals of mechanically completed plant systems;
  • Ensuring that tests, controls and inspections are carried out in accordance with established schedules, including the necessary 3rd party inspections.
  • Facilitate the handover of completed systems to the Northvolt Commissioning and/or Facilities teams.
  • Assisting the CM and Project Manager with tasks related to Change Management, including problems concerning claims or price revisions submitted by the contractors.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Education: University degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant field of stud

  • 8 years of experience in industrial construction projects

  • Familiarity with relevant International Standards (Eurocode 2, Eurocode 3, EN 1090, EN 1011, etc).

  • Familiarity with the applicable AMA codes and BBR building regulation

  • Fit-out of Office and Lab areas

  • Familiarity with AB04 (general conditions of contract for building & civil engineering works & building services in Sweden)

  • Familiarity with ABT06 (general conditions of contract for design & construct contracts for building, civil engineering and installation works in Sweden)


  • Drivers License class B valid in Sweden/EU
  • BAM (Bättre Arbetsmiljö) and BAS-P/U course highly valued
  • Heta Arbeten Permit Issuer (hot works loss prevention) course highly valued
  • Work at height, MEWP, safe lifting and Scaffold <9m training certifications highly valued
  • English & Swedish bilingual proficiency highly valued
  • Proficiency with the language of Contractor manpower highly valued as well.

Other valuable ( but not required) experience:

  • Familiarity with Sweden’s Arbetsmiljöverket Laws and Provisions applicable to construction projects
  • Cast-in-Place Concrete competence Level 1 from accredited organization, or equivalent (Platsgjuten Betong Kompetensklass 1)
  • Clean & Dry room experience
