Senior Application Solution Architect

Job Description

Sword Services Greece is seeking to recruit energetic individuals to join our international development team in Malta as Senior Application Solution Architect. The successful candidates will work in a multicultural environment supporting our core business in large Information Systems for the European Commission.

What you will do...

• Lead and contribute to the solution architecture, design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of EUAA information systems;
• Assess, propose, design, prototype, develop, test, configure, and maintain technical solutions related to key business requirements for improvements of EUAA systems, according to the prioritised backlog agreed between ICT and business;
• Provide senior consultancy support and conduct studies on technical issues regarding information systems and ICT processes;
• Provide technical leadership to other members of the ICT project team/s;
• Facilitate and actively contribute to quality and architecture board (QAB) meetings within the ICT Unit;
• Provide technical support in the applications’ and EUAA’s roadmap, including EUAA’s Azure environment and EUAA’s SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 presence;
• Integrate the applications with other EUAA systems or third-party platforms and tools, as required;
• Perform assessments and health checks on system functionality;
• Develop and maintain the solution architecture of information systems according to EUAA’s enterprise architecture, technology roadmap;
• Support ICT project teams in requirements specification, work estimation, development, deployment and maintenance and support of various information systems;
• Lead and coordinate technical reviews, including reviews of design artefacts and source code reviews, addressing technical debt, and recommending alternative robust solutions where appropriate;
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including enterprise architecture documentation, solution architecture documentation, operational maintenance manuals, version description documents, release guidelines, and user manuals;
• Collaborate with ICT governance/oversight group to align ICT services and infrastructure with corporate strategy;
• Implement task automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) for ICT projects;
• Create and maintain SharePoint site collections with multiple sites, unique navigational elements, custom content types and site columns, site pages, web part pages, workflows, retention policies, and governance policies;
• Follow established processes for configuration and release management to ensure that all project artefacts are managed, integrated, and versioned according to standards;
• Provide training and act as a "point of contact" for application related questions and requests;
• Monitor and report on application usage (analytics) as well as ensure appropriate security audits posture of the systems, including preparing and assisting for security audits;
• Collaborate with the ICT project teams, Product Owners, and business stakeholders on the analysis and design of evolutionary changes, new features, integrations, and improvements;
• Engage in market research and survey vendor products, technologies, and services that address the EUAA information systems’ needs and integrate into the EUAA ICT technological landscape.

What is your experience...

• Advanced use of EUAAs SharePoint on-prem (2013/2016/2019/Hybrid) and SharePoint Online, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), SharePoint PnP Framework (deployment templates), SharePoint site and list templates, SharePoint REST APIs, client-side web parts, custom actions and PowerShell;
• Design and propose solution architecture;
• Develop software as required in one or more of the following: in .NET (framework 4.x and 6+), C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and ASP.NET Web API, similar to those used in the EUAA platforms;
• Work with Web APIs and perform system integrations;
• Use Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Azure DevOps;
• Use DevOps best practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD);
• Work independently in of one or more front-end JavaScript frameworks, such as Vue JS, Angular or React;
• Work with Microsoft SQL Server;
• Work with the Microsoft Power Platform.
