Health and Safety Specialist/Engineer

We are looking for a dedicated Health and Safety Specialist/Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Health & Safety team based in Skellefteå.

About the role and team:

As a Health & Safety Specialist/Engineer, you will contribute to the work of building a management system for health and safety. Within the scope of this, daily support to the organization in their daily health & safety work is also included.

You will be part of a Team that reports to the manufacturing H&S manager, and that collaborates closely with both the construction HSE- and the environmental function. You will also collaborate with H&S colleagues at the other units within the Northvolt group.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participates in the work of building up a Health & Safety management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 45001 and Northvolt's internal standards.
  • Carry out training in health and safety.
  • Compile and follow up KPI´s and report to management and other relevant parties.
  • Support the organization in connection with risk assessments and other risk reviews.
  • If necessary, support with investigations of incidents and accidents, with the aim of finding root causes and proposing measures to prevent it from happening again.
  • Carry out investigations regarding physical work environment aspects such as exposure to chemical substances, noise, and ergonomic factors.

Skills & Requirements

  • Relevant training within health & safety
  • Experience from work in process industry and/or other manufacturing or production industry
  • Can express yourself well both in spoken and written English.
  • Experience with facilitating training and instructing people in health and safety.
  • Experience working with risk assessments and investigations.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working within H&S within Sweden or Europe
  • Experience working with certified management systems, for example ISO 45001, OHSAS18001, ISO 14011 or similar.
  • Knowledge of specific areas within health and safety, for example CE marking, ATEX, chemical legislation, PED etc.
  • Can communicate in the Swedish language, as many authorities communicate in Swedish.
  • Experience from working in a multi-cultural environment.
