Volvo Cars is one of the most well-known and respected car brands in the world. Northvolt is a leading supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems, dedicated to delivering the world’s greenest lithium-ion battery. Together, we have formed a joint venture, NOVO Energy , to power the next generation of pure electric Volvo and Polestar cars.

Few industries offer as great an opportunity for career growth and personal development as the new European battery industry. In working for this joint venture, you'll not only develop skills that are highly sought after in the global automotive and industrial sector but you are also contributing to a climate-neutral way of life for future generations.

We are building a state-of-the-art Gigafactory that will be one of the largest cell production facilities in Europe and construction is set to begin in 2023. To make that happened we need the best to join the team early on!

We are now looking for a Cost Control Lead to join the team. As Cost Control Lead you will join our in-house EPCM team. With the help of a support team you will lead the efforts to organize and track the cost for our EPCM organization. This will include responsibility over casting the estimate, grouping the cost for our contract packages, maintaining visibility over our commitments, accruals, liabilities, actuals, and forecast, and maintaining a clear change order process throughout the project completion.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Successfully deliver a clear historical track of our EPCM organization budget.
  • Work with the Construction Director and the CFO to create a Cost Breakdown Structure that will function as the basis of controls and the links to our finance system.
  • Manage the cost by developing a baseline to the budget based on estimate phases, and track all changes and reasons behind them, so that we have a clear picture of our end results.
  • Champion the cost control system for the organization. (System is still to be selected).
  • Lead the efforts of coding our estimate to assigned scope and procurement packages, as tracking/controlling our commitments, accruals, liabilities, changes, actuals, and forecast.
  • Create and champion a Change Control process that can provide inputs to areas of risk and improvements, as well as serve as one of the main sources of Lessons Learned for continuous improvements.
