We need a top notch tech lead who is passionate about building new products from scratch. Do you want to join us in realizing cutting edge ideas, and build products and services that allow more sustainable consumption through first class ecommerce solutions?

We are a small team about to set out to build the next niche marketplaces for consumer goods in the Nordics, starting off in Norway. We have a clear purpose to build sustainable and financially viable digital products and services within the growing domain of circular ecommerce , or as we call it: recommerce.

We are looking for a tech lead who can help us manage and evaluate complex opportunities, and determine what gets built and delivered to customers together with our product manager.

Competences that would be ideal:

  • You’re proficient in English in verbal and written form.

  • You have a solid technical experience in data science or data engineering, with knowledge of state of the art “big data” technologies such as Spark, Kafka and Snowflake.

  • You are familiar with cloud computing. We are using AWS primarily, but familiarity with other cloud providers will count positively.

  • You have a track record of delivering successful products as an engineer and a team lead.

  • You know best practice and have experience in building APIs

  • Have a sophisticated understanding of different agile approaches that you will ensure are being guarded and improved to fit your team's needs

Building on Schibsted’s current Nordic capabilities within media, marketplaces and delivery, our team's ambition is to establish Schibsted as one of the main actors in the recommerce space - by building the ecosystem enabling a frictionless flow of both new and preowned goods between people and businesses.

Your responsibilities:

  • Be a hands-on engineer while still leading any technical infrastructural decision.

  • Indulge in being a generalist working on frontend as well as backend problems, focused on solving those problems, and stop at nothing to get the job done.

  • Be an expert in understanding and prioritizing when to integrate third-party products vs building everything from scratch.

  • Define architectural roadmap based on business needs - where are we today, where do we need to be in a year and in the future.

  • Help your team build robust, scalable systems and products to ensure reliable delivery and operations of our systems.

  • Maintain high levels of teamwork, transparency, and efficiency in collaboration with other development teams in Schibsted Ecommerce & Distribution, and in other parts of Schibsted.

  • Independently lead the development of new features across the stack.
