We are looking for a driven Instructional Designer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.

The role is part of our bold and passionate Lead & Learn team. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing our in-house Northvolt Battery Academy and contribute to building the first large-scale European battery factories.

About the job

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is not every day that you can be a player in scaling-up learning in a hyper-growing area like the battery field.

Through your expertise within instructional design, you will closely work with battery subject matter experts, identify training needs and methodologies, create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention, secure speed knowledge transfer, and enable Northvolt’s mission of making the world’s greenest battery.

About the team

The team is based in Stockholm and Västerås, and this role will mainly be based in Stockholm with travels to all our sites on a regular basis. Our growing team is ambitious, driven, and creative! We work with learning and leadership. We believe in long-life learning and self-leadership, creating the condition for the true scale of growth mindset at Northvolt.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create, evaluate, and maintain engaging learning experiences and compelling course content
  • Work with battery subject matter experts and identify the target audience’s training needs
  • State instructional end goals, create content that matches them and measure the ROI
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product
  • Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments, by applying tested instructional design theories and methods

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • 3+ years working experience in Instructional Design
  • Excellent English written and oral skills, preferably mother tongue
  • Passion for teaching, engaging learning experience and the academic world
  • Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Solid knowledge of course development software (Articulate, Storyline) and at least one Learning Management System

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Korean, Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
  • Battery knowledge Battery components, Electrode production, Cell Assembly, Failures mode
  • Background: chemistry, electrochemistry, material science, engineering
  • Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
