We are looking for two driven Professors of the Practice for Northvolt.

Greenhouse Academy is a unique and in-house formula to build the next generation of battery experts. You will work closely with our experienced practitioners and provide professional and academic instruction in a manner that brings distinction to the targeted business unit. About the job

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You will be among the first members of a very prestigious group, leading the way within speed knowledge transfer in the battery field, working closely with subject matter experts, identifying training needs and methodologies, creating engaging learning activities and compelling courses to enhance retention, secure upskilling in our core area and enable Northvolt's mission of making the world’s greenest battery.
You will report to the dean of the academy with the primary task of developing, delivering, improving, and assessing the curricula in the Greenhouse. Being part of this means working every day with extremely talented experts, learning from the best in business, and challenging yourself and others at any given moment. It is a dynamic role, in touch with various parts of the business, where you can fully use all your collaboration and leadership skills. Throughout your career, you will also be eligible for rotation programs, pausing your role as Professor in Practice to have even closer contact with the day-to-day operations.

About the team

The Lead & Learn team is ambitious, driven, and creative! The majority of the group is based in Stockholm and this role will be placed in Västerås at our R&D facilities, Northvolt Labs, and have close collaboration with the local organization.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the design and development of our Common Core Battery Foundation Curricula and Level 2 Battery Curricula, ensuring that they remain relevant to the future
  • Identify, define, and undertake teaching, learning, and assessment activities in line with our teaching delivery strategy. You will contribute to the planning of these activities, and you will oversee measures to sustain the delivery of high-quality teaching.
  • You will engage in industry, subject, and/or pedagogic research and continuing professional development.
  • Working with Northvolt line managers, you will support the development of training and projects that support and apply the learning from the academic course.
  • With a focus on our people, you will provide the correct level of tailored support for the participant of the academy, with a focus on understanding and applicable competencies.

We believe you are:

You have an agile mindset, can learn fast, and connect effectively disciplines. You can understand how we work at Northvolt, our know-how and deliver it, improve it, and make it better every time (through partnership and our in-house experts).

You are a post-doc with a very strong theoretical academic background and have been exposed to teaching duties and interaction with students. You also have worked a few years in a company, experienced the industrial and business life, but enjoy teaching.

You can explain things in different ways and are trained to understand whether the academy participants really understand the disciplines taught.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Post-doc in best reference universities within material science, chemistry, and electrochemistry

  • Good breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in material science, chemistry

  • Been exposed to teaching duties and interaction with students.

  • Work at least 2+ years in a company, seeing the industrial application of the theory

  • Excellent English: written and oral skills

  • Proven track record in delivering and developing best-in-class academic curriculum

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in the manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Korean, Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment
