Sampo plc is looking for a development and project-oriented Sustainability Controller to join their team in Sampo’s headquarters in Helsinki.
As a Sustainability Controller, your main responsibilities will be the development of Sampo Group’s sustainability reporting, including e.g., annual and quarterly reporting, implementation of relevant legislation (e.g., the EU Taxonomy, and CSRD/ESRS), and the implementation of sustainability-related reporting and data management systems. Besides the reporting, you will answer stakeholder questionnaires (e.g., ESG rating agency surveys, investor questionnaires), lead and work on various development projects, and support the Head of Sustainability. You will be part of Sampo plc’s Sustainability team as a third team member. You will also work closely with other internal teams as well as Sampo plc’s subsidiaries.
This full-time and permanent position is ideal for a candidate with strong project management skills and the ability to implement changes and communicate them effectively. You want to take responsibility and you have the ability to work independently. Your background can be e.g., from controlling, investor relations, or/and sustainability. Most importantly, you are interested in working with multiple topics that fall under the sustainability umbrella and have a passion for sustainability-related reporting. To succeed in this role, we hope you have attention to detail, great communications skills and also a strong ability to produce text. You need to be able to adapt to change and enjoy the ever-evolving field of sustainability.
Your role is versatile, and you have cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders within Sampo Group. There is also the possibility to modify the role according to your interests and background, as the position is new.
Relevant academic degree e.g., in business, environmental sciences, engineering, or sustainability
At least a couple of years of relevant work experience e.g., within sustainability, investor relations, and/or controlling, and expertise in related reporting and data management
Experience in project management and good cooperation skills
Good analytical skills, precise working style, and attention to detail
Fluent in written and spoken Finnish and English and excellent ability to produce text
Understanding of reporting requirements of a Finnish listed company
Familiarity with sustainability-related abbreviations such as SBTs, PRI, TCFD, GRI, and CDP
Understanding of economy and finance/insurance industry or at least interest in the field
