Tax Accountant

We're looking for an enthusiastic and driven Tax Accountant to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. This role will play an important part in executing the tax needs of the business and contributing to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

If you have an accounting background and an interest in tax, have a keen eye for detail and want to be part of a fast growing business and amazing team, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you’ll help maintain our company’s financial health and make sure we use our resources beneficially. You will gain increasing experience as the company grows whilst utilising the best technology and develop processes for a lean mean Finance function.

You will also contribute to ensuring that financial systems are fit for purpose, are appropriately maintained and will help identify areas for improvement.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and submission of monthly VAT, energy tax and employer tax declarations for the Group’s Swedish entities along with the filing of EC sales list information and Intrastat reporting.
  • Support with payment and recovery of VAT in territories outside of Sweden, in regard to overseas VAT registration of Swedish entities.
  • Assist with executing and monitoring intra-group transactions and undertake invoicing and reconciliations between Group entities ensuring that intra-group transactions are captured and recorded in all entities in a timely manner.
  • Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of tax accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of tax related annual audit process tasks.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in an Accounting or a similar role.
  • Degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance or similar.
  • Tax experience is desirable.
  • Experience of working with medium to large companies is preferred.

Specific Skills:

  • High level of energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast moving business.
  • Able to work independently and drive issues to conclusion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with knowledge of Excel (vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
  • Experience with mid tier ERP systems; Dynamics365 experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented.

Business language of Northvolt is English. Swedish is a plus.
