Indirect Tax Specialist

We're looking for an enthusiastic and driven Indirect Tax Specialist to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. This role will play an important part in executing the tax needs of the business, in this role you report directly to Northvolt's Head of Tax.

About the job

You will take the lead responsibility for maintaining and further developing all processes related to VAT and other indirect taxes.

You will gain increasing experience as the company grows whilst utilising the best technology and developing processes for a lean mean Finance function.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Driving digitalization and automation within VAT to increase efficiency.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly VAT and energy tax declarations for the Group’s Swedish entities along with the filing of EC sales list information and intrastat reporting.
  • Support with payment and recovery of VAT in territories outside of Sweden, in regard to overseas VAT registration of Swedish entities.
  • Coordinate and manage VAT aspects related to acquisitions, divestitures or other M&A activities.

In addition to indirect tax work you will also be able to broaden your tax knowledge and contribute to other tax areas.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • 2 - 4 years experience in a indirect tax role with a focus on Swedish VAT. Knowledge of an additional tax area is a plus.
  • Experience will preferably come from a multinational company and/or as a consultant. Experience from a Tax Authority will be considered but one must be able to demonstrate practical application of tax knowledge in a business setting.

  • Bachelor degree in accounting, economics, finance, law or other relevant subject area.

Specific Skills:

  • High level of energy and enthusiasm to work in a fast moving business.
  • Able to work independently and drive issues to conclusion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with knowledge of Excel (vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
  • Experience with ERP systems; Dynamics365 experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented.

Business language of Northvolt is English. Swedish is a plus.
