Sales Development Leader, Asia Pacific

About the role

You will lead a hungry, fast-moving regional sales development team and to support new logo growth in Asia Pacific (APAC). You will be responsible for developing key growth strategies, tactics and action plans, as well as hiring, developing and leading a high-performing team of Business Development Representative (BDR) and Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to meet our ambitious growth targets.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a visible track history of leading teams to exceeding targets, a strong passion for results and experience in a SaaS organization. This position is your opportunity to make an impact on Meltwater's overall success and growth in APAC.

This role will be based in Sydney and reporting to the Executive Director of APAC.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop, implement and drive pipeline generation strategies to meet (and exceed) net new revenue targets through increasing our inbound and outbound prospecting pipeline

  • Partner with sales and marketing to develop a go-to-market strategy to build a pipeline of qualified prospects

  • Coach, support and mentor the team to ensure sales development KPIs are met and continuously monitor the team’s performance through the use of data and metrics

  • Lead a team of Business Development professionals to build a continuous and successful sales pipeline

  • Review, assess and improve sales methodology and processes based upon team and business performance

  • Provide ongoing feedback and conduct quarterly performance management cycles with your direct reports aligned to the sales strategy

  • Possess a through understanding of Meltwater’s product suite and be able to articulate its value to prospective clients

  • Lead by example - set the standard, demonstrate a results oriented focus with hard work and dedication

We’re Looking For

  • 6 + years of experience in business/sales development at a SaaS company

  • 3 years of experience in team leadership including performance management

  • A strong track record of success developing high performing teams

  • Ability to identify and recommend areas for improvement in processes and productivity

  • Possess a passion for developing talent and supporting the team to progress in their careers

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Entrepreneurial mindset & willing to lead from the front

  • Experience leading change initiatives

  • Analytical and data oriented across a variety of sales & business metrics
