We are looking for a Fixed Assets Accounting Manager to join our global accounting team in Amsterdam. We are seeking a self-motivated team player with strong operational accounting, financial reporting, and leadership skills.
This leader will be the global process owner of fixed assets, including leases, R&D capitalisation and intangible assets, and play an important role in our efforts to further enhance our controls, accounting processes, and reporting for these areas.
Your main responsibilities are:
Manage the global Fixed Assets accounting team, which includes accounting and related financial controls for lease-related assets & liabilities, property plant & equipment, intangible assets (including capitalized research & development costs), goodwill, and related depreciation & amortization;
Ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes and deliverables for the related areas, including review of work performed by others;
Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies which can streamline the close process and/or reduce risks, such as implementation of automated solutions (e.g. RPA), and improved systems & tools;
Operationalize the accounting for business transactions, including lease arrangements and assets acquired in business combinations;
Partner with business stakeholders, including engineering, tax, corporate development, facilities, and sales to influence and advise on contemplated transactions;
Support enterprise-level initiatives relating to the related business processes, including tax & legal entity optimization, enhancements to the company’s internal controls over financial reporting, and implementation of IFRS reporting;
Hire, train, coach, manage, and ultimately lead 2-3 team members. Regular feedback meetings and support the team’s growth & personal development;
Support group and statutory audit requests for the owned areas.
Skills & Requirements
7+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or a similar role, including at least two years of experience managing others.
A mix of public accounting and industry experience is preferred.
Big 4 experience and a professional accounting certification, such as RA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or similar, is preferred.
Experience with a Global company with significant presence in the Americas, EMEA, APAC, and the Nordics desired
Experience with lease accounting topics under IFRS 16 and/or ASC 842 is a plus.
Experience working with accounting & ERP systems, such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
Self-motivated, detailed and deadline-oriented, with a proven track record to handle multiple tasks with varying priorities. Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment at a growing company.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate status, issues, risks, and opportunities with leaders, auditors, and business partners.
Fluent in and comfortable working in English.
