Sword Services S.A. Greece is seeking to recruit a high caliber, energetic individual to join our Software Development team in Greece as a Database Administrator. The successful candidate will work in a multinational environment on a multitude of tasks supporting our core business in large International Information Systems. What you will do...
The successful candidate will:
- Configuration, maintenance, and operations related to Clients Database Infrastructure that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability, and scalability
- Provide 1st & 2nd level support for various tasks and incidents
- Provide on call support with a weekly rotation schedule
- Continuously identify enhancement/optimization opportunities and implement them if approved by the Client
- Provide pro-active maintenance and support of DB / DevOps workloads with a lean culture
- Ensure all Client workloads are properly monitored, and all the necessary alerts are actioned when required.
- Identify automation opportunities to enhance the operations and security of the Client’s applications and the cloud platform they operate on
- Setup and delivery of new business and/or infrastructure applications, following the DevOps guidelines established by the Client
- Provide the Client with rapid deployment capabilities against certain prioritization and workload management
- Report directly to both the Client’s DevOps Manager for workload prioritization and management, as well as Sword’s Infrastructure team
What is your experience...
- Bachelor’s degree in a CS/IS/IT/System Administration related field or equivalent experience
- 4 years in a Database Administrator role with experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with MongoDB administration and configuration
- Excellent knowledge of administration of RDBMSs
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options
- Experience working with multiple operating system servers
- Ability and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Excellent command of the English language both written & spoken.
Experience in the following will be consider as an asset:
- Exposure to monitoring and creating alerts in OEM
- Working knowledge of RDBMS such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Experience with automating deployment using DevOps tools like Ansible, Jenkins etc
- Experience with a CI/CD Job management tool such as Jenkins
- Working knowledge of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes is considered a plus
- Experience in Cloud Environments such as Azure and AWS is considered a plus
