We are building a state-of-the-art facility for research and development of the next generation of battery cells, and we need your help in making it happen. If you have engineered complex automotive products with a system engineering focus, this opportunity as Lead System Design/ Mechanical engineer is for you. You will in this role be in charge of system engineering aspects of battery cell development.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the design overview of the whole cell to system
- Responsible for mechanical design and simulation incl. mechanical engineering, 2D/ 3D models incl. tolerance calculation
- Support (Electro-Thermal) work with cell team to characterize cell performance
- Responsible for drawings and design release incl. design review
- Define and support cooling system with simulations and thermal tests. Understand and support the aspect of thermal propagation from cell to back/ module.
- Brake down of technical requirements and carry out (D)FMEA
- Support with battery system modelling and performance simulations
If you are the right person for this role, you are goal-oriented, curious, and persistent in solving problems at their root causes. Your first-principles knowledge of engineering allows you to engage quickly with a wide range of new problems.
Skills & Requirements
Education and experience
- A relevant university degree in mechanical, electronics, electrochemistry engineering or equivalent
- +5 years of practical engineering experience in an R&D-focused environment preferably within the automotive industry with focus on battery cells or battery systems
- Excellent English written and oral skills.
