Northvolt has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is part of our passionate Northcloud team under the Digitalization department based in Stockholm. By joining us, you will be a key player in ramping up a product team in Northcloud and contribute to building one of the first large-scale European battery factories.

The Digitalization team is developing industry-leading connectivity in the factory to enable both data and product-driven decision-making on all levels of operations. We build software and develop solutions that give our colleagues real-time insight, impact, and control over the factory: from planning over execution to quality assurance. Northcloud aims specifically to develop cloud-based solutions to enable connected factories in the context of Industry 4.0. Northcloud includes three different product areas that are divided into product teams. The product areas are production control and execution (PC&E), digital product quality (DPQ), and traffic control (TC), which focus respectively on production, quality, and material movement.

As a Product Manager, you will join a product team under a certain area and will be responsible for a team of software engineers, a tech lead, a product analyst, and a UX researcher. You will work closely with another product team within the same area, the area Product Manager, and the Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Define the product strategy and a roadmap on a quarterly basis
  • Translate the product roadmap into a product backlog with a shared understanding of the backlog items with the rest of the team
  • Identify problems/opportunities for improvements and evaluate them using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Work with software engineers as well as stakeholders close to the shop floor, such as manufacturing, production planning, operations, production technology, and process engineering
  • Support the Product area lead to define the long-term strategy and the product roadmap
  • Define KPIs, track progress, and measure the business impact of the team
  • Facilitate technical design workshops
  • Partner with UX and Product Analysts
  • Travel frequently between different locations of offices and factories (Stockholm, Skellefteå, Västerås, and more coming)

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
