Regional Payroll Manager, Asia Pacific

Reporting to : VP, Human Resources

Working closely with: APAC HR team, Global payroll team

Job location : Sydney or Singapore

  • Responsible for collecting, processing and reviewing the data for the monthly payroll in coordination with regional HR team and different payroll companies throughout APAC, including Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, China, Hong Kong and Japan
  • Processing all external reporting requirements for payroll
  • Uploading all payroll information into payroll system
  • Coordination of all external payroll partners and managing payroll audits from authorities if required
  • Reconciling payroll records to financial statements, review of payroll journal and coordination with external auditors during year end audits
  • Closure of each tax year and delivery of all legislative forms relating to payroll and benefits
  • Responding effectively and efficiently to all information requests from internal and external clients with HRBP’s involvement when needed
  • Ensuring accurate payment of commissions and bonus
  • Ensuring that payroll processes and controls are operated correctly and in accordance with company policies, and consulting HRBPs when needed
  • Assist with employee payroll questions and concerns
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of Restricted Stock Units granted to local payroll within the APAC region
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders: Regional HR, Benefits, Accounting and Commission teams
  • Function as a strategic partner and contribute process improvements for all key system implementations and upgrades
  • Providing payroll advices to business in conjunction with HRBPs
  • Ad-hoc support for payroll related initiatives and projects

Candidate profile:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of managing a medium sized payroll across APAC region
  • Familiar with the payroll/individual tax regulations in the countries/areas mentioned above
  • Process and systems oriented
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Experience in projects to move to a single payroll platform for a region is desired
  • Ability to strike a good balance between long-term benefits and short-term risks in daily work
  • Self-driven and Is willing to roll up sleeves and get things done
  • Experience working in global/multinational companies and teams
  • Fluent in English - Other APAC languages would be an advantage, but not mandatory
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in finance or accounting, alternatively successfully completed professional education in accounting
  • Experience working in payroll service providers or SaaS industry is a plus
  • Bonus point for payroll exposure to more APAC countries such as Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand
