Purpose of Role
As a Financial Controller in nShift, you will be responsible for timely closing of the books & accurately reporting of the results.
nShift Group is registered in Norway which means the Financial Controller is responsible for the accounting and the administration of the Holding structure for the Group.
You will be a vital part of our cross European finance team.
Overall responsibility
Using your experience to ensure high quality reporting of the financials for all the Norwegian entities.
Being the technical accounting expert for the Group and responsible for monthly group consolidated reporting.
Contributing to build a high performing finance team across the nShift Group.

Skills & Requirements
The key responsibility includes:
Monthly Reporting

Responsible for timely month-end close, relevant accounting entries, the preparation, review and analysis of monthly management accounts for Norwegian entities

Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations of all Norwegian entities

Prepare monthly group consolidated p&l, balance sheet and cashflow statement
Year-end audit:
- Liaise with Group auditors & manage Group audit.
- Support/Prepare Group consolidated financial statements
- Prepare statutory accounts and tax papers for Norwegian legal entities
Technical Accounting
- Develop & update accounting policies for the Group
- Prepare accounting papers to conclude accounting treatments
- Technical accounting expert
Compliance Reporting
- VAT reporting for Norwegian legal entities within the Group
- SSB reporting for Norwegian legal entities within the Group
- Covenant compliance reporting to the banks as required.
Other
- Support Norwegian finance operations
- Liaise with advisor for tax returns & support transfer pricing
- Initiate, follow up and settle intercompany related transactions
- Participate in process efficiency improvement projects
- Ad hoc projects and duties as directed by senior managers
Competence and personal characteristics
- You are academically strong and analytical, a technical accountant with strong financial reporting skills
- You are curious, pragmatic, well-organised, proactive, hands-on and able to prioritise and meet multiple deliverables at deadlines.
- You have excellent problem solving skills, great attention to details, can-do attitude, good collaborative and communication skills.
Education, experience and skills
- 4-7 years of experience in an audit firm or in a similar position
- Higher financial/economic education, preferably state-authorized public accountant
- Experience in technology industry is a plus as the knowledge of NetSuite
- Excel and IT systems competency
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, both oral and written
- IFRS knowledge is preferable
