Job Description

Do you like working with both people and technology? Are you connecting the dots and able to articulate business benefits? We’re looking for a Head of Solution consulting to build and run our global practice within experience and commerce technology consulting.

We’re solid practitioners in digital commerce and experience solutions. We have more than 300 engineers and are taking on complex projects for leading brands, retailers, and manufacturers globally.

As we adopt more technologies and get asked by our clients to help with technology strategy, roadmaps, and evaluations—we see an opportunity and need to professionalize and expand global Solution Consulting practice.

What is our field of expertise?

We work in the sphere of digital commerce with the commerce platform as the foundation, arching into marketing technology, content management, product information management, and order management. We consult clients on technology and architecture fit based on requirements, we do platform assessments, and overall help to plan out their future technology roadmap. The Solution Consulting team works in close collaboration with platform-specific architects, strategy consultants, and experienced designers.

What would you do as a Head of Solution Consulting?

Your role will be to build an official global department/practice in a hybrid of group/back-office and local country teams. Your team will consist of new hires and existing architects/business consultants that will move into the Solution Consulting team.

  • Taking our capabilities, methodologies, and frameworks to the next level

  • Set the direction for Solution Consulting together with the Chief Strategy Officer

  • Coach and support Consultants, provide input to personal development plans

  • Drive and participate in strategic sales meetings with new and existing clients where we need to position our Solution Consulting capabilities

  • Contribute to our external positioning through content, webinars, and presentations

  • Be a senior capacity on strategic projects and engagements, driving technology workshops and deliveries

You will lead and teach through client engagements, meaning — being hands-on as a senior capacity in strategic projects driving deliveries together with existing Solution Consultants and Technical Architects.

What will the first three months look like

Joining Vaimo, you would most likely have achieved the following after the first three months:

  • Meet your team, peers, and stakeholders

  • Participate in 1-2 strategic deliveries, get hands-on, to understand what we do

  • Be in the front seat of a couple of sales presentations

  • Get a good understanding of the “as-is” landscape of Vaimo, and get a clear idea of how you would like to evolve the department

If you already can establish methodologies, great—but we see the first three months mainly as hands-on onboarding.

Skills & Requirements

About you

We don’t know exactly who you are, but we think you might be a #excellence-focused and ambitious person with a good business mindset. Maybe you love tacos and beer, or maybe you prefer a poké bowl and sparkling water - we don’t really care, as long as you are happy to work with a bunch of unique and driven people.

What we will be looking for is somebody who:

  • Has architect strategy / consulting experience with CMS, Commerce, and MarTech architecture/platforms such as Adobe, Salesforce, Hybris, or similar

  • Can articulate an architectural vision to C-level executives in the morning, while doing a technical workshop with architects in the afternoon

  • Has a good commercial acumen of the “mechanics” of a business

  • Has the personal qualifications, and desire to inspire and lead a team of highly skilled professionals

  • Is proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently

  • Has excellent English communication and presentation skills

What technology you are experienced in is not that important. What’s important is that you can build architecture strategies that entail a larger ecosystem of platforms to orchestrate commerce and digital experience.

You will report to our Chief Strategy Officer and become part of our global Consulting & UX team. It's a global team of +40 members of both Strategy, Solution Consulting, and Experience Design.

You should expect 15-20 travel days per year. Mainly within EMEA.
