Job description:
Overall, Purpose :
The Transmission Implementer will be part of the Transmission Networks team assisting the team with optical transmission network build.
Principle Responsibilities:
Responsible for the implementation of the Arelion Optical Transport Network.
Primary responsibility will be to oversee installation, commissioning, testing and turn-up of optical transmission equipment.
Build new capacity to migrate from end-of-life platforms to growth platforms and dismantle End of life platforms.
Interface with engineering, planning and collocation departments for space requirements, power requirements, network management, DCN ports, and transport backbone capacity.
Working very closely with the team and assist with expansion projects and dismantle or optimization projects.
Working Relationships:
Procurement, Architecture and Engineering, DWDM Planning/Implementation, Suppliers, Infrastructure
3+ years’ experience of working in a telecommunications company responsible for Plan, Build & Operate functions
Knowledge of DWDM systems from leading vendors like Infinera. Ciena.
Be able to test, turn-up and commission additional capacity in the network.
Detailed understanding of all aspects of planning and general understanding of implementation and deployment activities.
Ability to accurately document and maintain standards.
Collaborate with Network Planning and A&E to optimize network, understand diversity and network routing requirements.
