Northvolt is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Digitalization Platform team. This is a rare opportunity to build the software that powers the largest battery factories in Europe and play a critical role in transforming society to a carbon-free future. With the company building a total of five Gigafactories across the world in the next few years, you will be at the forefront of the green industrial revolution.
As a Platform Software Engineer, you will be part of the team building the next-gen connected factory or Industry 4.0. Our cloud-first strategy, implemented in Northvolt Ett, our first Gigafactory in Europe, sets a global example in manufacturing. You will be responsible for the platform powering detailed product traceability, real-time monitoring of manufacturing line effectiveness, computer vision defect detection, and machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) modeling to predict quality and performance of the produced battery cells. One of our biggest challenges is developing a blueprint for a digital factory to repeatably commission new factories while scaling the existing ones. Skills & Requirements
We are seeking an experienced software engineer who is passionate about technology and loves to work on everything from architecture, design, to the nitty-gritty implementation details. While familiarity with the technologies we use is not required, we hope that you have a keen technical mind and a desire to learn.
- We mainly work with Go, but we welcome engineers with experience in other languages.
- Our infrastructure is deployed and managed on AWS using Terraform and AWS CDK. We place a strong emphasis on infrastructure as code and responsible development of infrastructure.
- We operate on a micro-service architecture and deploy on AWS Lambda and EKS. If you have experience with micro-services and distributed systems in production, we would love to hear from you.
- Communication is key, and we value engineers who can effectively communicate and write design documents. As part of our team, you will work closely with developers in product teams, guiding and supporting them in their work.
