Northvolt is now in the middle of establishing in Germany and one of the first team to staff will be our Construction team to start the construction of the gigafactory in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein. We are now looking for an experienced Project Manager in Utilities, the role is based in Hamburg with an outreach to Heide. In joining us you will play an important part from in building Northvolt Drei - one of Northvolt’s large scale European battery factories. As part of Northvolt, you will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
About the job
As the Project Manager Utilities, you are responsible to drive the Utility scope, working cross-functionally across the company with our talented colleagues from Construction team, Procurement team, Process design team etc. Key parts of this scope include waste water treatment, gas production, steam production, power, water, Utility Management System and more.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Track and report projects on budget and timeline
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for each part of the scope
- Drive each sub-contractor, e.g. participation in steering groups
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- Support team in technical problem solving when required
- Support / drive procurement of additional projects, from scoping work to setting contract
The person we are looking for is senior and used to driven large industrial projects from design to commissioning previously. You are driven, caring and structured. You thrive by leading others and work towards common goals. You are used to a high paced work environment and got good time management skills. Qualities that we cherish are flexibility, sense of quality, friendliness, motivation to take on new challenges, grit and a sense of humor.

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have:
- Engineering degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar) required
- 10+ years relevant project management experience within large scale industrial projects (projects over $2B)
- Experience with full project lifecycle including design, construction and commissioning
- Experience with construction projects in Germany
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Experienced in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting packages
- Experienced with planning tools such as P6, or equivalent
- Fluent in German and English
