THIS IS THE JOB

• You build a complete digital model of the aircraft's thermal management systems based on 0D-1D modeling integrating all relevant components, systems and heat sinks/sources
• You drive concept and design optimization based on simulation, and analysis of the aircraft’s environmental control/ thermal management system
• You carry out pragmatic evaluation of thermal management concepts with the idealization of physical effects and first principles reasoning
• You implement and analyze control strategies
• You derive and integrate simplified models from high fidelity models
• You specify thermal margins as well as operation procedures
• You assess and define thermal management requirements
• You provide detailed reports for certification purposes
• You support in shaping processes in the department

THIS IS WHAT WE NEED

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field required
• 2+ years experience in a similar position, working with thermal networks and reduced-order modeling (0D-1D), simulation, and analysis of thermal management systems (preferably HVAC). Experience in the aerospace industry is beneficial
• Experience with vapour compression system modelling
• Work experience with thermal network solvers (Amesim, Simscape, Kuli, GT Suite, EBSILON Profesional) is required
• Strong motivation to help build structures and processes is required
• Good communication skills and pro-activity
• Fluent English language skills are essential
• Intermediate German anguage skills are essential
• Fluent German is a big +
• A valid residence permit for Germany (for not EU citizens)
