We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Site Construction Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our great and bold Construction team. By joining us, you will be a key player in ramping up and contributing to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the job
The role will initially based in our office which is currently located in Hamburg with an outreach to Heide, Schleswig-Holstein where the gigafactory will be built. A commuting set-up between the locations will be required followed by full time present on site when the execution work has started. As a Site Service Manager you will be responsible for most of the indirect works for the Northvolt Germany site. You will plan and structure the civil works and site services by setting up milestones, coordinating the interfaces to the other blocks and ensuring the commercial aspects of the works.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Steer the civil block who are executing the groundworks for new buildings, performing landscaping around the existing buildings and working with the utilities
  • Steer the site service team who provide all temporary services and structures such as facilities, utilities, scaffolding, roads etc.
  • Work closely with the Construction team to enable an efficient execution of the buildings
  • Interface the other Programs to plan the overall site – feedback to the design team to implement changes of the Master plan

About the team
You will be a part of the construction team which we are recruiting from scratch locally to Germany, the good news is that you have a counterpart in Sweden who can support with knowledge and skills which was learnt while building the first giga factory in Sweden. You will report to the Director of Construction. People who have joined us say that the work is very inspiring, the atmosphere positive and that they learn a lot. We dare to challenge conventional methods and with our hands-on mentality we get stuff done.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • A degree in engineering/ construction or Relevant University Degree
  • 10+ years working experience in the field of construction
  • Great English and German written and oral skills

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in working on industrial sites
  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
