Heart’s mission is to create the fastest, most affordable and sustainable mode of transport for regional travel. Our goal is to serve the market in every corner of the world.

Our first aircraft is the ES-19, a nineteen-passenger airliner with an operating range of 400 km. The ES-19 is a fully electric aircraft, and our goal is to have the aircraft certified for commercial operation by 2026.

Your place of work will be at our main office and hangar facility. This is located at Säve Airport in Gothenburg, Sweden. We seek experienced and skilled professionals to join our small, fast-moving team developing a new electric aircraft in Sweden. We’re in a very expansive phase and now is the time to join our team.

Role Overview

As Head of Digitalization & IT, you are responsible for ensuring that Heart Aerospace has an IT infrastructure that enables us to meet our strategic goals. You will have a key role and become part of both daily operations and major strategic decisions. The role enables you and requires you to interact with all parts of the organization, to use your understanding of organizational needs and translate them into digital solutions. Our employees are our biggest asset, and your leadership skills are essential to our company development. We are open to tailor the role as we grow in the future.


  • Conceptualize and implement an IT strategy

  • Lead the IT development

  • Identify organizational needs, plan and initiate new IT projects

  • Ensure network and servers are functional

  • Manage the hardware equipment

  • Work according to, and ensure compliance to, the AS900D standards

  • Produce, check and correct IT management documentation

  • Handle change and request orders

  • Approve, train and support relevant employees

  • Participate in developing the company and support daily company development

  • Implement solutions to comply with GDPR

  • Establish and maintain a company support desk for all parts of the IT infrastructure

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant academic background, e.g. M.Sc. in IT, business development or similar

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience from relevant businesses

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on engineering experience (software, mechanical and/or electronics)

  • Project management experience

  • Leadership competence and experience

  • Business analyst, system engineering, integration, risk management and testing/verification experiences are beneficial

  • Hands-on experience from working with quality standards (and applicable regulations)

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English

  • Eagerness to work with others

  • Passion for aircraft and Heart’s mission

ACCESSIBLEWe believe air travel should be integrated into–not seperated from–our towns and communities. Our zero-emissions, low-noise aircraft can operate on 750m runways, making new use of the vast network of small airports close to city centres.

COST-EFFICIENTElectrification changes the equation for regional air travel. Electric aircraft are affordable to buy, operate and maintain. Simple, reliable electric motors reduce maintenance costs by 90% compared to turboprops, and intelligent electronic monitoring reduces inspection needs. Most importantly, fuel costs go down by 50-75%.
