Material Engineer (Junior)

We are looking for a dedicated/experienced/driven engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent/bold/passionate the advanced material's team based in Vasteras in Sweden. By joining us, you will be a key player in developing cathode materials for Li metal based battery and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the team
Advanced material's team contributes to Li metal anode, Silicon anode, Functional separator, Advanced Cathode, and other cell component materials which are necessary for improving current Li ion battery performances
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing next generation technologies for Advanced Li ion and Li metal batteries
  • Advanced materials include Li metal anode, advanced Cathode, and other cell component materials which are necessary for improving current Li ion battery performances
  • Operate characterization instruments, including SEM-EDS, TGA, DSC, XPS, optical profilometer, BET, Raman, NMR
  • Testing advanced materials from a raw material level to a full cell level

Skills & Requirements


  • MS/Ph.D. degree in engineering (material, chemical, mechanical or similar) and 0-6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience working with Cathode materials (eg, NMC) for lithium metal and/or lithium-ion batteries.
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory setting & willingness to conduct experiments in a glovebox and dry room environments.
  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Excellent understanding on battery related materials
  • Experience in planning, developing, and executing the design of experiments for proceeding and testing of battery cell is a must
  • Experience in the selection, characterization, and validation of LIB materials is a plus (active materials, additives, binders, separators, electrolytes, etc.)
  • Excellent English written and oral skills

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Have the basic knowledge of LIB materials including Cathode materials and electrochemistry.
  • Operation skill of the measuring equipment required for analysis such as SEM, XPS, etc.,

  • Excellent communication skills with relevant teams

  • Knowledge of the equipment required for sample production

  • Exceptionally good negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Have a can-do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently

  • Passionate & purpose-driven

  • Excellent skills for Microsoft offices (word, excel, ppt)
