Northvolt‘s journey started in Västerås, Sweden with Northvolt Labs, a prototyping factory now in operation. The first phase of giga-factory - Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå is in the ramp up stage, while the further expansion project has already kicked off. On top of that, in recent weeks and months we have announced further giga-factory projects - in Borlänge, SE, in Gotheburg, SE (joint venture with Volvo) and in Heide, DE. And there's more in the pipeline, but we can't talk about it too much just yet. In joining us you will play an important part, in what is still an early stage of building a landscape of multiple giga-factories in Europe, and beyond. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

We have an exciting job offer for a Planning and Logistics Manager within our excellent and passionate Supply Chain and Manufacturing Team at Northvolt. If you're as terrific as this job ad, you'd be located in Skellefteå and have the opportunity to secure Northvolt’s successful growth in Sweden and beyond.
Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå is the first giga site in our short history. In it, your primary assignment will be to build and manage a growing organisation totalling 150+ Planners, Logisticians and Material Handlers within the next 2 years, or so.
You will liaise with multiple functions including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Group Planning and Logistics, Programme Management, Technology and many others, pulling together a comprehensive plan production, demand and logistics plan and then execute them.

In broad terms, Planning and Logistics organisation is responsible for supplying production lines with all required raw materials, components and consumables, as well as making sure that the finished good are delivered or made available to our customers as per specification. In order to succeed a significant effort is undertaken within production and supply planning, transport booking and management, as well as internal operations – storage and material handling.

First and foremost - you are a hands-on leader. You are a natural when it comes to human interaction, managing a broad scope of activities across a busy landscape of stakeholders. You are great in building and leading efficient teams, communicating clearly with both internal and external partners.
A manufacturing site is your home, and you find peace watching ASRS lifts zoom back and forth in front of you. You have in your past spent a considerable amount of time on the shop floor, planning and managing complex production systems where materials always had to be available, for the lines never to stop. Never!
The role will be based at Northvolt’s Skellefteå giga-site with infrequent travels to Stockholm, Västerås and other Northvolt facilities.

Together with the wider Supply Chain and Manufacturing Team, in your job you will:

  • Build and lead a Team of Planners, Logisticians and Material handlers
  • Implement processes and IT systems to ensure reliability and scalability of Northvolt’s giga-manufacturing operations
  • Oversee the budget and optimise processes within your scope in order to drive highest efficiency and lowest operational cost
  • Continuously improve Northvolt operations and share learnings and best practices with other Northvolt units

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
