Basware Corporate Functions supports Basware business by providing and continuously developing high quality tools, processes and expertise to enable successful execution of company strategy, effective operations, and happy internal and external customers.

Corporate Functions has skilled and development-oriented people working across the world in all of Basware’s 14 countries, with truly global ways of working, and consists of Digital Office, Finance, Human Resources, Administration, Legal and Sourcing teams.

Together with other Basware units, Corporate Functions ensures that our customers can successfully meet their business objectives through cooperating with Basware and using our product and service portfolio.

WE are searching for a Business controller- focus on Incentives to perform business control related activities including financial planning and analysis globally within Basware.

Key responsibilities:

  • E2E responsibility of incentives financial management operations
    • Perform month-end close related activities including: incentive related journals and forecast by using key business drivers, reconciliations and audit reports
    • Compile incentives period-end reporting package for the top management
    • Drive incentive financials development from analytics and process side (increased insight & productivity)
    • Cooperate with Performance and reward VP to make sure that Basware incentive models can be deployed from financial perspective, and active collaboration with business control team and Basware leadership
    • Connect and align business strategy with incentives
    • Build rhythm of the financial business processes with HR leaders that help business leaders understand the connections, responsibility, and ownership for the incentives E2E process

What we’re looking for:

  • Proactiveness, curiosity and positive can do -attitude
  • Accounting skills and personnel expenses understanding is a must. Moreover, it is important to understand how income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement connect together, and how they connect with business
  • Basics of incentives
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Team player and effective communicator with all levels of management and cross functional organizations
  • Willingness to take on new challenges
  • Experience of using group reporting tools and/or SAP is considered an advantage
  • Willingness to learn project management skills, including e.g. planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments by following broad and complex instructions
  • Comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving.

Skills & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or related field and a minimum 5 years of finance experience
  • 5+ years of relevant Finance experience, with demonstrated ability to perform ad-hoc analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making
