Job Description

As the Senior Regional Marketing Manager for Central Europe & UK , you will be responsible for marketing planning and execution at country and regional level in alignment with global marketing, sales and business development teams. You’ll be responsible for developing, launching, and managing event marketing programs spanning prospects, customers and partner audiences, both digital and in-person, in order to enhance our brand image, engage existing customers and partners, and drive demand for Basware solutions in country and regionally. You'll contribute to our event strategy globally and engage with partners to drive demand through our partner channel. You'll feedback market insights to the marketing leadership team and wider marketing team and business to ensure all our programs are fit for market, insight-driven and customer-led.

The successful individual will oversee the management of the local and regional digital and in-person event programs, partner engagement strategy and customer engagement in support of the local business. You will be accountable for pipeline results, ensuring constant delivery of volume and quality of leads, MQLs, and new sales opportunities for your programs. Success in this role requires the ability to define an events strategy, set campaign goals, provide excellent project management skills, maintain a keen eye for compelling and innovative content, and possess a passion for continuous improvement.

This role reports into the VP Brand & Market Activation and is part of the wider Brand & Market Activation team whose aim is to increase brand awareness, increased our earned media share, and deliver local and regional market activation programs across prospect, customer and partner audiences. You will partner closely with Proposition Marketing, Global Demand Generation, Digital marketing team, and local sales teams to ensure our local events, partner and customer strategy is fit for purpose, aligns with our global marketing strategy and supports local market needs.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Accountable for the delivery of event marketing objectives for the region across prospects, customers, and partners
  • Development and execution of regional and country event marketing strategy, execution, and reporting performance
  • Influence and align with key stakeholders across Europe (UK, France, Germany, Belgium/Netherlands) on event strategies including own (Basware-hosted) and third-party events, as well as local partner and customer engagement opportunities
  • Management of senior stakeholders (Brand, Demand Generation, Partner, and Sales teams) to ensure alignment and best outcomes for market activation programs
  • Build and strengthen relationships with partners to drive demand through the partner channel
  • Align with local sales teams, marketing leadership, and other functions as needed
  • Provide local market feedback to global teams and provide a significant contribution to global projects
  • Enable sharing and adoption of best practices from other countries
  • Management of lead flow to the BDR team from the market activation programs
  • Work with the BDR team to ensure effective follow up of leads and conversion to pipeline
  • Team leadership and line management responsibility as well as managing strategic supplies
Skills & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a marketing role with a focus on events and/or building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs in a B2B environment
  • Strong event planning, project management and operational skills with ability to directly own and manage all elements of a multi-region events program from conception to measurement, including strategy, project management, vendor negotiation, production, event registration, data gathering/reporting, evaluations, speaker engagement, and cross-functional partnering
  • Ability to drive local market activation programs independently and take accountability for results
  • A strong understanding of pipeline management and driving demand in B2B domains supported by marketing automation and CRM
  • Confident communicator with ability to engage directly with external customers & partners
  • Customer and sales oriented, with ability to collaborate with functions outside of direct control to achieve great results
  • Excellent organizational skills coupled with high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, creating a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Business-savvy modern marketer, with passion for innovation and new trends in marketing
  • Ability to manage and develop high performing teams
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team, with proven ability to partner with virtual globally distributed teams
  • Experience of working in an international environment in a global matrix organisation
  • Fluency in English, plus French and/or German language, preferred
