Sword Services Greece S.A. (Athens) is looking for a GIS Programmer! You have an amazing opportunity to work in a multinational fast-paced environment, in an IT company, offering services to most of the European Commission Institutions and European Agencies through multi-year contracts.
You will have the chance to join the newly established GIS team in Athens, to work closely with other competent GIS professionals from other countries and to contribute with your knowledge and experience in the implementation of highly visible and critical GIS projects of the European Union.
What you will do...
- Production, maintenance and evolution of software, scripts, libraries, programs and code related to various activities, such as geospatial data management, spatial analysis, cartography and map production with high level of automation and reproducibility.
- Development of stand-alone tools, Graphical User Interfaces and deployment of existing GIS processes as web services.
- Drafting technical documentation.
- Drafting user requirements, technical specifications and other technical reports, papers and presentations.
- Participate in internal and external meetings and workshops for training or support
What is your education and experience...
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or similar
- Professional experience related to the development of GIS software tools, acquired during the last 10 years
- Good knowledge of the design and development of tools for ArcGIS desktop or other GIS software
- Good knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tier web GIS applications
- Map viewer development for web browsers and mobile platforms: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JavaScript map viewer frameworks (e.g. OpenLayers, leaflet, d3, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcGIS API for Flex) is desirable
- Server-side development (e.g. J2EE, WebLogic, tomcat, eclipse, node.js, wildfly) is desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbally)
