Since its inception, the Meltwater Foundation has invested $20 million into the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology, supporting aspiring African entrepreneurs through the training program and incubator. Over 350 individual entrepreneurs have graduated from the training program and over 30 tech companies have been launched via seed funding and mentorship from MEST.
While Accra, Ghana, will remain headquarters for the training program, MEST is forging a strong incubator network across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire and South Africa.
In Cape Town, we’re launching an exciting new incubator to accelerate the pace of South African startups scaling to the rest of the continent, and other African startups establishing teams in Cape Town.
We’re seeking a dynamic proven business builder to deliver growth support to our portfolio of 30+ startups, taking them from pre-MVP startups to great Pan-African companies. You will have ownership over the recruitment of Entrepreneur-In-Training candidates from South Africa as well as oversight over the partners and mentors we need in the market to make this happen (so a ready-to-go Rolodex in South Africa will be a huge plus) and work cross-functionally with other MEST operational units to drive the success of these companies.
You will also work closely with our Community Manager whose focus is to create and curate the right ecosystem around our startups for their success. Together you’ll be part of a team connecting the Africa tech ecosystem to Cape Town and Cape Town to Africa! #StrongerTogether
