Startup Partner:Peach Cars
Peach Tech Limited aims to revolutionize the way cars are bought and sold across Africa.
They've launched a marketplace purpose-built to connect buyers and sellers of used cars in Kenya in new and exciting ways, but have their sights set on bigger and better things:
to build an ecosystem around buying, selling, owning and maintaining cars in Africa and prove to the African customer that they deserve - and can have - more!
Peach Cars are at a unique point their the development and growth trajectory wherein they have a need for a skilled early to mid-career professional to join them to help scope out, prioritize and then execute on a number of strategic projects.
These projects will see the successful candidate working with the company's leadership as well as internal and external stakeholders to attempt to answer strategic questions and make a mark through the design, development, and implementation of systems and processes to enable Peach Cars to realize the growth they know is possible.
Sample Strategic Projects
- Referral program -
98% of Peach Car's sales come from referrals. They know this is a critical channel, yet they've never quite gotten a referral program to work the way it ought to. This project will entail working with internal and external stakeholders to identify and/or action:
- Registration as a valuer -
Vehicle valuation is a major source of revenue and, more importantly, a way for the team to build its brand vis-a-vis visibility and mindshare in the market. They are interested in becoming a certified valuer, to tack onto their offering of inspections-as-a-service, and believe they have all the requirements met, however, they need to confirm this and then action it, folding it into their operations, marketing/branding, etc.
This project will require one to:
- People / talent development
- Knowledge management and documentation
Reports to: Co-founders
5+ years of professional experience in business operations, with some experience in technology, and/or marketplaces
Operational creativity to think about how to develop and sustain an organization
A willingness to roll up your sleeves and help the team get work done as they are a growing organization
Experience in strategic planning and data-driven decision making, using facts, metrics, and data to guide strategic business decisions
Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with existing, or the ability to quickly establish, strong relationships with stakeholder individuals and groups at all levels across the firm
An innovative mindset with a willingness to execute fast and tactically
Self-directed individual with a value for autonomy and freedom at work. Comfortable translating high-level goals into an actionable plan and can execute with minimal oversight
