We are looking for dedicated and Experience Health and Safety Engineers to join our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate Health, Safety and Environment team based in Skellefteå. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing health and safety procedures, educate about safety culture and ensuring a safe environment in our production facility.

About the job

As a Health and Safety Engineer at Northvolt you will have the opportunity of spearheading Health and Safety processes, and you will play a crucial role in educating managers and employees on Northvolt's safety culture and procedures. Furthermore, you will be expected to participate in daily tasks such a safety reports, risk analyses, work environment rounds and investigations. You will have the unique opportunity to be a pioneer in setting up Health and Safety procedures in Europe's first and largest giga factory. The opportunities on the health and safety team are endless and we are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional that is looking to make a difference!

About the team
The health and safety team is growing; lead by the health and safety manager, the team is currently split into three sub-categories: Environment, Health and Safety, and Fire Safety. Furthermore, as the company and site expand, we will be looking to grow our seasoned professionals into leadership position should that be your wish!

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement Health and Safety plans and procedures across site
  • Educate managers and employees on the company's safety culture and procedures
  • Communicate with external stakeholders regarding HSE laws and legislations
  • Completing day to day H&S tasks such as risk analyses, work environemnt rounds, investigations and incident reports

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • A degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Swedish legislation in the field of work environment and its application.
  • Good knowledge and/or experience of working with risk analyses and investigation methodology.
  • Knowledge of occupational hygiene measurements, process safety, and the Machinery Directive,
  • Experience in workplace measurements

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in the manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in Swedish
  • Experience in the chemical industry
  • KNowledge in Swedish HSE legislations
