As the Senior Manager, PR & Communications , you will be responsible for developing and leading Basware's global PR & Communications strategy and execution. You will lead the overall communications strategy for Basware with a focus on earned media including public relations, social media, awards, influencers, thought leader program as well as corporate and internal communications in order to tell our story across all our key audiences and ensure Basware is a thought leader in our business domain. You will be able to craft engaging and impactful stories and get these into relevant media (industry-specific and tier 1), influencers and partners with a particular emphasis on the key markets of US, UK, France & Germany. You will develop programs working with senior stakeholders in the business to position them as thought leaders externally to extend our reach. You will also support the executive leadership team as a communications advisor and strategist on corporate and crisis communications.

This role reports to the VP of Brand & Market Activation and is part of the wider Brand & Market Activation team whose aim is to increase brand awareness and preference, increase our earned media share, and deliver local and regional market activation programs across prospect, customer and partner audiences. In this role, you will partner closely with Proposition Marketing, Global Demand Generation as well as the Basware Executive Team and Country Directors to ensure our PR, Communications and Social strategy is fit for purpose and aligns with our global marketing strategy, and supports local market nuances.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Define and execute a communications strategy for Basware including public relations, social media, awards, thought leader program, corporate & internal communications in order to develop our narrative, grow awareness, build our positioning and tell our story across all our key audiences
  • Create and manage a communications roadmap and editorial calendar mapping to business objectives, product announcements, events, and business news at a global and local level
  • Develop deep relationships with business, industry, and technology journalists, influencers, and bloggers to secure relevant and regular coverage
  • Define and own the organic social media strategy and execution model, working across teams to drive the desired social media impact (network growth, share of voice, sentiment, influence).
  • Create alignment with Brand, Global Demand Generation, and Proposition teams to maximise coverage, digital opportunities and support distribution of content across channels
  • Partner with Basware executive team, Country Directors, and key senior stakeholders to identify and position them as credible thought leaders externally through a steady stream of thought-provoking content
  • Own the process and execution of Basware's corporate and crisis communications
  • Partner with the executive team to oversee our internal communications to create, promote and celebrate Basware as a great place to work.
  • Define and build the communications operating model, including processes, tools, and KPIs to support and measure the impact of your strategy
  • Manage our global/local PR agencies and the ongoing management of the PR budget
  • Set measurable objectives for the function to drive the team’s performance
  • Oversee communications measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports, utilising metrics such as media reach/frequency, number of impressions, share of voice, customer/prospect sentiment, awareness, engagement, and paid vs. earned media placement.
Skills & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years experience in a similar hands-on PR and communications role with a focus on driving earned media across PR, Social, Influencers in a B2B environment
  • Demonstrable success in setting and delivering a breakthrough PR and Communications strategy, growing awareness, reputation, and trust to support commercial outcomes
  • Strong preference for agency experience with tech clients or in-house in a tech company
  • Solid understanding of US, UK, France, and DACH media markets and hot topics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively adapt style to convey the message to a variety of audiences and comfortable presenting to large audiences
  • Proven experience communicating with and influencing all levels of management
  • Customer and sales oriented, used to working in a multi-cultural global matrix organisation
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team, with proven ability to partner with virtual globally distributed teams
  • Curious about nature and eager to get involved in innovation cycles to identify the next big thing
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English, plus French and/or German language, preferred
  • People and agency management experience beneficial
