Job Description

Platform Product Manager is the business owner of the platform product line, responsible for product specific vision, strategy, and roadmap planning. They are the expert of the business domain the product belongs to, they understand the full ecosystem around the product, the needs of customers and users of the product. In addition, Platform Product Manager is responsible for portfolio SaaS non-functional customer requirement management and roadmap planning, for example, ensuring that Basware’s portfolio meets customers’ security and compliance requirements.

The platform is not a product that is directly sold to customers but rather a collection of SaaS shared services such as administration, authentication, monitoring, messaging, etc. that enable efficient development and operation of portfolio products and enable single centralized points of integration and user interaction by the customer for Basware’s entire product portfolio. The platform is developed as cloud microservices using AWS native technologies.

Product Managers at Basware drive product development of the product by communicating customer and market needs to product development. They are responsible for the prioritization of customer enhancement requests towards their product. Product Managers work closely with Product Owners, Architects, UX Designers and R&D to ensure that needs are turned into requirements, which result into implementation that satisfies the original need, that is proven by measuring the success/impact. Product Managers are responsible that the customer problem/challenge is validated and well understood before a solution is designed.

Product Manager is responsible for the service descriptions of their product and that their product meets the Basware Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Product Manager is also responsible that the SLA of their product can be monitored by Operations and reported to customers when required.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Strategy, product vision and product life cycle management:

  • Following competition and market development
  • Following SaaS technology development

Product business:

  • Minimize the direct product costs (operating, hosting, delivery, support cost)
  • Responsible for organizing product-related training to stakeholders

Product development:

  • Actively gathers input for product development from market, customers and internal stakeholders
  • Communicates the product vision, roadmap, customer and market insights to Product Owners
  • Approval of business cases/requirements of the product
Skills & Requirements

We are looking for a professional with

  • Subject matter expertise in the particular product or market and how to develop solutions for this market. Subject matter expertise should include specific SaaS technical knowledge.
  • Strong experience in SaaS technical product development or technical product management and understanding of SaaS Service Design methodologies
  • Demonstrated success in releasing products that meet and exceed business objectives
  • Understanding of User Experience (UX)
  • Data gathering, analysis and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of security compliance processes and certifications
  • University degree education (BSc/MSc technical)
  • Adaptability and flexibility to take on multiple roles and prioritize tasks
  • Effective communication and building relationships, both internal and with customers
    Equally happy to be out ‘in the field’ with customers or working with multiple teams across the business
  • Able to clearly explain technical and other ideas through persuasive presentation and logical argument
