WE ARE LOOKING FOR KITCHEN STAFF FOR ALL DIFFERENT LEVELS OF POSITIONS!

Scandic Hotels are looking for:

  1. Chefs for our a la carte restaurants
  2. Chefs for our conference and banqueting departments
  3. Kitchen assistants
  4. Breakfast chefs
  5. Sous chefs
  6. Head chefs

We offer full time and part-time contracts depending on what you are looking for.

Finnish language is not mandatory in our kitchens.

Chefs for our a la carte restaurants
We are looking for chefs to our a la carte restaurants in all our hotels in Finland. We have different leveled a la carte restaurants and some expect higher skill sets than others.

  • From an a la carte chef we expect either a chef's education or previous experience in an a la carte restaurant.

Chefs for our conference & banqueting departments
We have large conference &banqueting departments in multiple hotels. These C&B departments can serve up to a thousand guests for all sorts of events like cocktail parties, weddings, Christmas celebrations and company events.

  • From a C&B Chef we expect either a chef's education or previous experience of quality kitchen work.

Breakfast chefs
We serve breakfast in all our hotels and for us breakfast is one of our most important products as almost all guests eat breakfast as part of their stay. The working hours for a breakfast chef usually are between 5.00am -12.00am. The breakfast chef also often helps out in preparing the upcoming lunch.

  • From a breakfast chef we expect either a chefs education or previous experience of kitchen work.

Sous Chefs
We are looking for sous chefs to many of our hotels and their a la carte, C&B or breakfast departments. At Scandic the Sous Chef is in charge of the kitchen during the shift, ensuring that the food quality and standards are met. Sous chefs also often handle daily HR issues like staffing, as well as ordering of produces and assisting the head chef in any applicable tasks.

  • From a sous chef we expect either a chef's education and some previous experience in an a la carte restaurant, or previous experience of leading a kitchen and working as a sous chef/head chef for a few years.

Head Chefs
We are constantly looking for new talent to lead and manage our teams. At Scandic our head chefs are in charge of the entire kitchen operations and team members. They are responsible for the kitchen's quality level, profitability, the team members well being and the development of the restaurant and it's menus. Within Scandic we take great pride in good leadership and want to ensure the best possible team member experience by having the right leaders in the right positions. Scandic has won the "Best workplace in Finland" titles in the international Great Place to Work competition two years in a row (2018 and 2019).

  • From our head chefs we expect a chef's education and previous experience in a management position in an a la carte restaurant or similar or previous experience of leading a quality kitchen and working as a sous chef/head chef for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Basic written/spoken ability of Finnish language is needed on this level
  • The head chef is apart of the hotel's management team

Kitchen assistants
If you do not have previous work from the kitchen or you do not have a chef's education, but you have worked in fast food, cafeterias or similar concepts with food preparation:
Some of our kitchens are looking for kitchen assistants to assist with simpler kitchen tasks that do not require a chef's education or previous experience.
Additionally Scandic has great co-operation with the local schools and will support you if you wish to get a chef's education while working in our hotels and training your skills.
