We’re currently looking for a business development specialist to help us develop our strategy and to take charge of some of our top priority projects. All with the goal of securing our position as the market leader within our segment.
As a business development specialist you will join our central business development team where we are responsible for the overall strategy process, the OKR framework and the execution of our most complex strategic projects. This might include projects, decisions and/or decision material related to:
Company and department strategies
Commercial performance
Business models
Competitive intelligence
Payments and pricing strategy
M&As
Strategic alliances
You should be prepared to work independently when needed, but you will always work close to the business development team. The projects you will drive will most often be cross-functional, meaning there will be stakeholders from different parts of the organization. As a business development specialist you will report to our business development director and will provide analyses, insights and recommendations to both the department leadership and the Mentimeter management team. As you might have guessed by now, the specialist part of the role title is actually about being a really good generalist.
You would most likely have a background in bridging data insights with business decisions, having taken full responsibility for the whole chain; from identifying business opportunities to driving change and generating results.
We estimate that the experience needed for this role would usually be gained over at least 3-5 years. However, we focus more on the ability to deliver than years previously worked (in the same way we focus on results instead of long hours at the office). Mentimeter is growing fast and circumstances change continuously, which means you would also need to have a high degree of self-leadership.
Must haves for the role:
A proven track record of working with strategic initiatives and driving change
Strong collaboration skills (you will be working with many different functions and people)
An analytical mindset and an ability to grasp the full picture
Experience of working with data analysis
A desire to navigate sometimes vague tasks
Excellent presentation skills and an ability to explain complex concepts
A desire to work in a fast-moving and friendly environment
A strong academic background
It’s also nice if you have:
Experience of project management and leadership
A background within management consulting, or similar experience
Experience of working with OKRs, digital products and agile work environments
