Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Sustainability Analyst to join our passionate Sustainability team in Stockholm.

Northvolt was founded with the mission to create the World’s Greenest Battery. We are here to make a resounding contribution to the electrification of transport, energy networks and industry in order to combat climate change. Fulfilling this mission requires working in a visionary and proactive way to drive the highest standards of sustainability across the entire battery value chain. When joining our team, you will play an important part in our start-up journey, as we are gearing up to become the leading European manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries.

We are looking for a Sustainability Analyst with a passion for sustainability and a drive to make a real impact on the sustainable build-out of the European battery industry. You will be working holistically on Northvolt’s supply chain sustainability, life cycle assessments and wider sustainability work, ensuring that we are delivering on our promise to produce the world’s greenest battery. You will be reporting to our Supply Chain Sustainability Manager.

Northvolt’s Sustainability team today consists of 11 professionals dedicated to setting, driving and enforcing sustainability requirements and roadmaps for the organization to deliver on our mission of producing the World’s Greenest Battery. The scope of the team includes e.g. sustainability strategy, supply chain sustainability, environmental projects, environmental permitting, setting standards for Northvolt Green Factories, chemical compliance, sustainability impact assessments and roadmaps, and reporting and policy advocacy.

We believe that you have 1-3 years experience, ideally with experience in corporate sustainability, supply chain due diligence or life cycle assessments. You have a hands-on and agile approach to working and enjoy working cross-functionally to achieve common goals.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting sustainability due diligence of suppliers, formulating supply chain impact strategies, drafting corrective action plans and monitoring progress against agreed targets
  • Ensure adherence of the purchasing teams with sustainability processes and procedures
  • Coordinating the collection of sustainability-related data (LCA and other), and conducting internal analysis on the data
  • Supporting the development and implementation of supply chain decarbonisation roadmaps and engaging with suppliers on general sustainability improvement measures
  • Following up on LCA roadmaps and KPIs across the organization
  • Monitoring key market and regulatory developments and disseminating analysis across team and organisation

In addition, you will have the opportunity to support the team on ad-hoc tasks related to sustainability strategy formulation and implementation. The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented and has a passion for the mission of creating a truly sustainable industrial company driving the low-carbon transition forward. You enjoy working cross-functionally and dynamically across the organization. You will in this position get the chance to have a real impact on our vision of enabling the future of energy, and see the results of your work first-hand.

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
