Lead Test Automation Engineer – iOS/Android

We are looking for a Lead Test Automation Engineer to join our successful Delta team in Espoo, Finland.

Delta is a central team of Rovio providing QA, customer service, delivery, user research and audio services to our five game studios. Going beyond the traditional games testing, we have the ambition to bring our test automation efforts to a level that brings Rovio teams clear and significant value. In order to achieve this we need the best-in-class in test automation to join us!

Lead Test Automation Engineer is a key role at Rovio and we are looking for someone who is highly experienced, inspiring and technically talented. We value mobile games test automation experience (iOS / Android) and experience on Unity projects.

You are inspiring and ambitious! - We need someone to define and drive our test automation strategy and vision for our studios. You will to work with our talented teams and professionals and guide them to reach the vision. You enjoy coaching and elevating your peers. The needed cultural change will be driven by your actions and your projects.

You are technically talented! - Rovio is well known for making games with genuinely world-class production values. Your conributions with test automation will enable our teams to consistently meet their high quality standards in their fast-paced game development projects. You have years of experience in this field, your are well familiar with Unity mobile game test automation best practices and you know how to drive teams through such cultural and technical transition.

You can make stuff! - In our studios everybody is expected to roll their sleeves and get their hands dirty so you will need to be comfortable being embedded in teams and lead by example. You understand how automated testing can be made reliable, thorough, efficient, cost effective and how it can provide value for our teams.

To summarize, we are looking for:

  • Experience from leading the planning, implementation and roll-out of a test automation strategy on mobile platform project(s)
  • Strong technical skills (programming, scripting and test automation)
  • Hands-on test automation experience on mobile platforms (5+ years)
  • Experience from working closely with game development teams (3+ years)
  • Broad familiarity of modern test automation platforms, tools and approaches, especially for mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
  • Free-to-Play mobile game development experience is a big plus
  • Experience with Unity game development and test automation best practices on Unity projects is a big plus

In this role, your influence will affect the whole organization as you will work closely with each of our studios. Your main goal is to lead Rovio towards more agile game development process, faster and more consistent deliveries and deployments and ultimately higher quality products and fan experiences.
