A unique opportunity to be a key contributor in the development and supply of reMarkable’s next products

Want to help people think better?

reMarkable is a Norwegian tech company that develops products and services to help people think better in a distracted world. We are one of the fastest growing tech scaleups in Norway, and have quickly grown from a small startup to approximately 300 employees. We are located across two offices in central Oslo.

Following the successful launch of our second-generation paper tablet, which was named one of TIME's top 100 inventions of 2020, and our new subscription service, Connect, we've set exciting growth and product development goals for the years to come. To help us get there, we need new colleagues ready to make a real difference through their work – which is where you come in.

We are currently looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager who will manage relationships and sourcing efforts in early phase product and service development. Are you ready to join the exciting growth of a truly unique tech brand?

The team is responsible for exploring new product ideas, technology scouting, sourcing new suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions, managing and developing suppliers, supplier relationships and contracts. All with the ambition of enabling reMarkable to make innovative products at competitive prices superseding our customer’s expectations.

Our Technology Sourcing team works closely with our designers and engineers, sets the category strategy and manages all direct relationships with hardware component manufacturers in the entire supplier lifecycle.

We are currently looking for a great mind with the right experience to join the team as Strategic Sourcing Manager primarily supporting our early phase product development and technology exploration efforts.

Are you ready to join the exciting growth of a truly unique tech brand?

About the role

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Technology you will work in interdisciplinary concept development initiatives. You will evaluate, select and manage vendor partnerships in strategic initiatives. You will report to the Head of Technology Sourcing. The role’s key responsibilities will be to:

  • Work closely with our engineering and design teams on new product development projects to define, plan and execute sourcing strategies

  • Be a key contributor to connect the dots between internal ideas and requirements and potential external partners that can help complete the picture

  • Take responsibility for strategic, tactical and operational initiatives and tasks within your own scope

  • Handle the balance between visionary focus and dealing with operational challenges in your work - when you see it fit

  • Assess and understand vendors’ technology roadmap

  • Be the connection point between product development projects and operations

  • When required, drive the source to contract process, including orchestrating cross functional supplier qualification

  • Be responsible to negotiate best in class prices, terms and conditions including managing discussions on IP, patents etc in close collaboration with legal

  • Contribute to build and develop processes, tools and ways of working

  • Support a wider range of development projects in the Supply Chain domain, as well as across the company

The role will require global traveling.

Who are you?

You have a strategic business mindset, and are able to understand and learn new technologies. You are curious of nature, love to deep dive into new areas, self going and dedicated with strong problem solving and communication skills. You are outgoing and enjoy building and maintaining business relationships. You have experience within sourcing and product/concept development and in negotiating contractual terms in collaboration with colleagues from legal. The role requires a pragmatic, analytical and team-oriented mindset. Familiarity and experience working with ERP and SCM systems will be an advantage. You are structured and able to scope, plan and manage your own work. You have a strong business acumen and are able to handle stakeholders and dependencies to other parts of the company.

We believe that you have at least 3 years of relevant work experience within the electronics industry, global sourcing or consulting (non exhaustive). Higher education is expected, preferably with a technical degree, but a mix of relevant experience can offset this requirement.
