Group Construction Clean & Dry Rooms Design Manager

In this role you will have overall responsibility to develop and optimise the Clean & Dry Room designs for the different Northvolt factories.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and optimising the Clean & Dry rooms design guides, technical specifications, and procedures for use in all Northvolt factories.
  • Collaborating with the multi-discipline engineering team to generate multi-discipline data-driven design solutions, which enable 3D, 4D, 5D and 6D designs to be generated.
  • Responsible for strategic decisions with regards to project Clean & Dry room design and procurement.
  • Defining the Clean and Dry Room scope of work for the Northvolt projects.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving the Clean & Dry room designs during the Conceptual and Basic Design project phases and handing over of same to the Factory Construction Design teams.
  • Working with the project teams to generate the Clean & Dry room related supplier framework agreements.
  • Approving the deviations from the Basic Design during the Detailed Design and Execution project phases.
  • Gathering the Clean & Dry room lessons learned at the project stage gates and updating the relevant documentation accordingly.
  • Collaborating with the Northvolt Blueprint dept to generate the Northvolt Clean & Dry room blueprint design.
  • Mentoring and supporting the different Northvolt Factory Integration departments.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications/education/experience:

  • Bachelors or master’s in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical HVAC or Energy.
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in cleanroom industry.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
  • Valuable (but not required) if fluency in other languages, including Swedish.
  • Have designed or lead development and construction of industrial cleanroom or clean and dry rooms facilities according to international codes and safety standards.
  • Have experience designing cleanroom or clean and dry rooms.
  • Experience with, and motivated to, setting up work methods and procedures from scratch, work with process evaluation and documentation.

Specific skills:

  • Experience in using all/some of AutoCAD, CAD MEP, MagiCAD, Revit, Mollier.
  • Good theoretical basis for HVAC calculations and design verification.
