About the role
The newly established IT Systems Tribe at reMarkable is responsible for the IT strategy, IT architecture, and for developing and maintaining the IT solution portfolio that will secure our global growth. reMarkable is a decentralized organization where many different tribes are in need of data & insight. We believe in a decentralized data & insight organization, which requires a strong centralized platform that facilitates great self-service capabilities that enables the tribes to easily leverage data. As an Insight Lead you will have an important role in realizing a world-class Data & Insight capability at reMarkable. The role will have the main responsibility for the content on the data platform, ensuring ingestion of data, data governance and facilitation of distributed data ownership and value extraction by data analysts. The role is also responsible for managing the insight work within a tribe. For this reason the Insight Lead should be structured, have a broad understanding of how data and analysis can be leveraged to create business value, and have a good understanding of data management.
Main areas of responsibility are:

Develop a vision, target state and roadmap with regards to Data & Insight within our Product or Market supertribe

Work closely with business experts within the supertribe to build domain competence and enable actionable insight

Understand and support data analysts, data scientists and business users in extraction value from Data & Insight

Lead and manage data analysts and scientists

Create a positive community of data analysts and scientists within the supertribe

Coordinate with other supertribes in realizing cross-tribe use cases
-
Overall responsible for ensuring discoverability and interoperability between data on the data platform

Establish and enforce governing principles for data and access management on the data platform

Developing well transparent and well coordinated plans for ingesting data from new sources into the platform
Examples of other tasks are:

Use data and information to guide reMarkable in the right direction in terms of opportunities, ways of working, optimal results and risks

Function as an expert among stakeholders, sharing best practices and providing trusted support

Work with users and other stakeholders in order to determine their needs for data and analytics solutions and tools

Documenting data requirements, based on needs and constraints

Skills & Requirements
Who are you?
-
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar degree. Master’s degree would be a strong advantage.

You have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience with managing Data & Insights platforms and/or teams.

You have a broad understanding of how data and analysis can be leveraged to create business value, and have a good understanding of data management
-
You have experience with Product/Web Analytics tools like Amplitude/Mixpanel or Google Analytics. Experience with CDP platforms is a plus
-
You have competent experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, dbt, and Terraform or similar IaaC. Experience with Looker is also a plus

You have deep understanding of data governance and data analysis

You have strong communication skills

You have the ability to lead others

You have good business acumen
