We are looking for a driven Project Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate R&D Labs team based in Västerås. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing/ramping up R&D Labs 2.0 and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.
About the job
You will be working with project management for one of the cell production lines of R&D Labs with timeline, scenario and resource planning. Alignment with project members in cell design, production engineering, quality, manufacturing, logistics and purchasing will be needed daily to drive the project forwards.
On a day-to-day basis you will be in very close contact with the production team and the customer project managers working to identify and resolve any blockers and risks. As this job requires working very tightly with the production line, you need to have a technical understanding and interest, whilst being a great communicator with a variety of stakeholders and internal customers. As part of the job you will be net-working regularly with senior managers and stakeholders.
You are expected to be very creative in finding solutions to push both yourself and your colleagues from various teams to ensure progress is made in the project. You need to be up to speed on constantly changing circumstances and evaluate proposed solutions from different stakeholders perspectives, making non-biased decisions that are the most beneficial overall.
About the team
The 4 R&D Project Managers are all based in Västerås and are working with different sections of the production line:
The size of the core team (Programs team) is small, however its tied to a much bigger organization (~100 people). The Programs team is tied to the entire R&D Labs team, including the whole R&D Labs manufacturing team and supporting personnel (such as production engineering).
Northvolt is scaling up massively in Västerås, building a campus for research & development including R&D, manufacturing, validation and recycling. As part of this development R&D Labs 2.0 is being constructed as we speak and is planned to soon be up and running. In this position you would be a critical player in this ramp up and take part in true Northvolt history.

The person we are looking for has a talent in planning, is a great communicator and can keep a good overview of rapidly changing projects and demands. You are able to handle ambiguity well and adjust quickly to moving targets. You thrive being a team player, driving others to meet project goals. You are used to a rapid paced work environment and have the structure and time management skills needed to perform in such. Qualities that we cherish are flexibility, ability to go from helicopter perspective to detail mode, motivation to take on new challenges with a smile, grit and a good sense of humor.
