Northvolt is now looking for a Director Labour Relations to join our mission to contribute to a greener future.

The role is based in Stockholm and reports directly to our Chief People officer. We are one of the most fast growing companies in the Scandinavian landscape and we are looking for a passionate colleague who will partner with the Employee & Labor Relations Specialists at all Northvolt's sites, as well as HR Directors and Business Partners. Who are we looking for:

You have been working with large, innovative labor law related questions and negotiations from the employer side, both on central and local levels. You have experience from the manufacturing industry or other relevant industry background and are a strong and positive relations builder managing stakeholders in a complex setting.

Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working with collective bargaining agreements in the industry.

Above all you are curios and motivated and wish to build greatness even when this means building new ways and paths forward.

The person we are looking for has high integrity and is used to handle sensitive information in a professional manner. It comes natural for you to speak up and you have a strong ethical compass. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Set strategies and actively execute on what is required for labor law, compliance, and regulations
  • Lead and coordinate negotiations & MBL meetings

  • Assist with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations

  • Communicate effectively with HR, leaders, executives, and union representatives daily to create positive working environment, address worker grievances, and verify compliance with contractual protocols

  • Analyse current employment agreements and human resources policies to determine overall state of employee relations and make innovative changes to improve morale, efficiency, and overall performance
  • Research on labor law, healthcare regulations, best practices etc.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications/education/experience

  • A BSc/MSc in Law, Labor Law, Human Resources or relevant university degree

  • Experience in employee/labor relations within manufacturing industry (or working with both CBA’s)

  • Knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.

  • Experience with complex negotiations

  • Excellent interpersonal & negotiation skills

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
