Utilities Data Project Engineer

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an Utilities Data Project Engineer to join our passionate team.

In joining us you will play an important part in our journey to building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Together with Northvolt you will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

In this role you will have overall responsibility for the project management, validation, and quality of the Northvolt Tool Utility Matrix (TUM) or utilities engineering data for our Ett Site in Skelleftå or Kvarnsveden Site in Borlänge.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that the Tool Utility Matrix (TUM) is issued on time and that all changes in the TUM are tracked and recorded to assist with the project change management process.
  • Issuing the updated versions of the TUM and communicating same to all project stakeholders.
  • Collecting the utility requirements (power, cooling, heating, gases, chemicals, water, etc) of the process and mechanical systems.
  • Working with suppliers and engineering companies from all around the world to determine the actual utility requirements and heat dissipations for the equipment supplied.
  • Validating the requirements for utilities against basic laws of physics, industrial engineering practice and by liaising with the relevant discipline leads.
  • Validation of data quality; including, but not limited to, integrity toward Northvolt's general data model (Functional breakdown structure and Location breakdown structure)
  • Developing and maintaining data-driven methods and automated tools to automate the processes for managing the data.
  • Improving the TUM format to facilitate automation and quality control.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications/education/experience :

  • Bachelors or masters in mechanical, process or electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Experience in the design/engineering of industrial, manufacturing, or chemical process facilities.
  • Have experience in multi-disciplinary engineering coordination, interfacing with construction and internal/external stakeholders.

Specific skills:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Valuable (but not required) if fluency in other languages, including Swedish.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical utilities.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD, standard office tools (particularly Excel).
  • Basic knowledge about data bases and data interchange.
  • Advantageous to have knowledge of Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud APIs.
