Automation Maintenance Technician

Northvolt is a European supplier of high-quality battery cells and systems, made in an environmentally sustainable way. The company was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest recycling capabilities.

In the plant located in Gdańsk we produce energy storage systems and battery modules that replace internal combustion engines in industrial machines. Currently Northvolt Poland is increasing its manufacturing capabilities by building a highly-automated, state-of-the-art production plant.

With our rapid expansion, we are looking for Automation Maintenance Technician for our new facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • conducting periodic, preventive inspections of production lines and technological devices
  • maintaining full technical efficiency of production lines and technological devices
  • ongoing control of the production process and equipment maintenance
  • diagnosing and removing occuring defects and production downtime
  • active participation in failure analyses and preparation of reports
  • process optimization and improvement of the machine park reliability by introducing corrective and preventive solutions
  • diagnosing the errors and controlling the PLCs
  • co-creating and developing procedures and instructions for newly installed production lines and technological devices as well as installing and starting up new devices

Skills & Requirements

  • minimum secondary technical education with automation, robotics, electronics or a similar profile
  • very good knowledge of issues in the field of electronics and industrial automation
  • at least 2 years of experience on a similar position in a production company
  • good command of English
  • ability to read technical documentation and electrical diagrams
  • basic practical knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • ability to work in a team and to cooperate actively with maintenance and production staff
  • focusing on development and self-improvement, having a growth mindset
  • readiness to work in a 4-shift system
  • readiness for frequent business trips abroad in the first phase of launching the production

Additional advantages:

We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
