Build Hurtigruten to become the preferred supplier among Charter & Incentive (C&I) buyers to the destinations we sail. Grow Hurtigruten's reputation within this sales channel as the world leader in exploration travel. Develop effective sales and channel strategies to drive and strengthen each step of the charter sales funnel based on insights and relationships in the distribution system. Lead the planning and development of go to market strategies. Collaborate with Itinerary Planning, Revenue Management, and Legal to win new contracts. Collaborate with Product and Hotel Management to successfully deliver against client expectations. Adapt and implement Global initiatives to ensure effectiveness and speed to market. Track and manage trade-related expenditures.

Skills & Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•Develop and implement a global Charter & Incentive (C&I) sales capability at Hurtigruten.
•Work with Itinerary Planning to identify sailing for C&I sales.
•Work with Revenue Management to manage and coordinate winning C&I sales proposals.
•Work with Legal to facilitate successful and effective contracting.
•Manage C&I channel relationships. Help the company to qualify and prioritize leads in advance of brochure launch.
•Manage and track performance reports to ensure opportunities are maximized. Identify leads that are not worth pursuing.
•Create business cases for internal opportunities to improve product features to win new business and accelerate growth objectives.
•Collaborate with Global and Local Marketing to promote Hurtigruten to C&I clients in a way that speaks to their specific requirements.
•Maximize cooperation and share resources between relevant departments on a local as well as a global level.
•Coordinate internal as well as external sales support materials such as presentations/templates/printed collateral with Marketing.
•Represent Hurtigruten at C&I events and conferences.
•Monitor and relay industry trends and competitor activities.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

•University business or comparable degree.
•Minimum 8-10 years of relevant cruise industry experience and a track record of success in closing charter sales.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

•Strategic sales and distribution planning based on performance, guest insights, and actual sales performance.
•Advanced negotiation skills.
•Experience in tight collaboration with global functional areas.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.

•Must have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines.

•Achieve annual sales targets and deliver objectives within budget
•Sales through indirect channels (B2B)
•Grow and deepen trade relationships
•Improve efficiencies and lower customer acquisition costs
•Launch and deliver all executables within deadlines.
•Develop and manage programs to exceed performance goals

Work Environment & Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear and see. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, ascend and descend stairs.

Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 30 lbs.

Work is generally performed in an office setting which may routinely involve sitting and use of computers for eight hours per day. Travel is frequently required.
